History of the hummers

The military Humvee, it can be called the father of the hummers that gave birth to the hummers. Thus came the civilian versions of the Humvee with the brand-name HUMMER. First came the hummer h1 followed by the hummer h2.

It was in 2006 that the GM released the new model of the hummer The H3. It was the smallest of the hummers of the hummers released till then. It became a conventional SUV and the sales went up fast. With the hummer h3 more people could feel the exhilaration that comes only when one gets behind the wheels of a hummer. It has a ground clearance of 8.5 inches and has got full undercarriage protection. It has the ability to ford 24 inches of water at a speed of 5mph and 16 inches at a speed of 20mph.

It is designed for extreme of-road conditions. It has a remote key-less entry and a panic button that gives a sense of security.

The h3 was the smallest among h1 and h2. Still it has a spacious interior and a good boot space. It has a really cool interior showing the hummer is not only an off-road vehicle but also a luxury vehicle. Just checkout the gallery for its cool interior. Even in offload conditions you will feel as if you are home. The legroom in the h3 is accommodating. It has a shallow center console. You can stretch your leg in truck like seating position, good for leg-long people. The gauges are brightly lit, showing vehicle information. The rear seats can be folded giving maximum boot space. The hummer h3 has a 3653cc engine. It delivers a power of 242hp at 5600rpm. The vehicle has a 23 gallon(87L) main unleaded fuel tank. The fuel economy varies from 20 miles per gallon on highway to 16 miles per gallon in city. About the gear system, it is available in 5 speed manual and 4 speed automatic gears. In just 12 short years of racing, the Hall family and Team HUMMER have built a resume that would be the envy of most race teams around the globe. In total, the Team as tallied a total of 10 class wins at the Baja 1000; 41 podium finishes in the Best in the Desert series races; and five BitD class championships. In fact, the Team is still today the only American team to finish the infamous Dakar Rally in the stock class – a feat it achieved in 1996.
